About Me

Things you should know…

I’m 18 19 20 years old, and I’m from a tiny Maryland suburb right outside of Washington, D.C. I live in a boring cookie cutter house with my anything but cookie cutter parents, our two dogs, and my 25 26 27 year old sister who not so recently moved back in. She graduated from law school a few years ago, but it’s hard out there for a pimp or her case a wanna be lawyer. We’re 7 years apart in age, but she’s one of my best friends.
Because of a series of unfortunate events spanning my first two years of high school, I had to attempt to complete high school through a distance learning program. Don’t worry I’m really not weird, well at least not in that religious Duggar Family homeschooled way. (Not that there is anything wrong with them, I actually love their show on TLC.) Any who, it’s safe to say that the whole lack of structure and classroom wasn’t my thing. I quit in the spring of 2009 and took the G.E.D. in the fall of 2009. I’ve got a real diploma now and everything!
Now, I’m attending community college and trust me it is nothing like that show on NBC. I’ve got a year to go and then I’ll hopefully be off to a 4 year school. I have ONE semester left at my community college! Well, after I submit my applications that is… Applications submitted, acceptances received, show me the money! Scholarship University aka the state school down the street, here I come! Oh, I’m also a very recently declared art major. Can you say uncertain future? Whatever. It’s what I love and it took me a long time to accept that fact.

I wouldn’t normally tell you this, but I have Type 1 Diabetes. That’s actually how I got my blogging start. I really sucked in the beginning so don’t waste your time reading much there, I mean you can if you want. Also, please do NOT tell me a story of your grandmother/aunt/third cousin who had and/or died from “Diabetes”. Chances are it was Type 2 Diabetes, which is a completely different disease. Stories like that do not make me like you, in fact they make me want to throw things at you. Sorry, they just do. Also, I don’t want to hear about Halle Berry miracle cures. Take your magic juice elsewhere!

I’ve already realized that trying to figure out life is pretty pointless, so I’m just trying to live it well instead.

I enjoy: Impulsively purchasing music on iTunes and AmazonMP3. Driving a little too fast. Dancing spastically. Shoes. Hair dye. Taking pictures. Making crafty bits. Reading celebrity blogs. Diet Coke. Watching too many TV shows. Netflix. Pilot G2 pens. The color Purple (The actual COLOR, not the book. I haven’t even read it or seen the movie.) & Spending time with the people I love….

I dislike far too many things to list.

Thanks for stopping by!

ahahaha LMAO! Couldn’t have said it better myself, Jillian. And BTW, you never SUCKED at d-blogging. And who’s to say you can’t write about your diabetes here when/if you ever feel like it again. When I started my blog it was just a blog to keep track of my life in Taiwan and it morphed into a diabetes blog, so opposite starts, but we end in the same place: writing, blogging, and of course, pumping and all that fun stuff!! KEEP IN TOUCH! I LOVE your flower photographs. They make me smile. And I have your photograph framed and the homemade card framed in my kitchen, as well. Think of you every day…and smile! šŸ™‚
